Goodboy Productions is a multifaceted design, process, and production company.
My current professional focus is graphic design for event logistics, identity, marketing, merchandizing, education, and book and magazine design.
My design perspective integrates different modes of perception, combining implicit intention and images, explicit or implicit. Color, space, composition, and typography are rich languages. Resulting pieces may be simple, spare and elegant, or wildly dense. My role is to reach into the known and the unknown intentions of each client, translating sometimes vague intentions, first into well integrated images and then into accessible media.
I see important distinctions between complicated and complex interaction of parts in whole systems.
Complicated arrangements or interactions tend to be design deprived— they lack integration and probably leave one with a clunky or unsettled perceptual residue.
Complex arrangements or interactions tend to be design rich. Great design engages many levels of perception simultaneously. The seen and the unseen manifest with intimate clarity.
My formal education has always combined Architecture, Landscape Architecture, History of Art and Architecture. Individual, Neighborhood, Urban, Regional, Global and Universal definitions are vital as working contexts for design. Whole Systems Design remains at the root of my functional center.
This site presents my professional and personal profile information in different formats; some chronological and some by media type or functional category. There is some redundancy because many categories merge and overlap. In this site I have embraced the diverse nature of both my personal and professional experiences. I see them each and all as a spectral whole rather than as separate exclusive pieces.
